#BlackGirlMagic: A new chapter!

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

"You never know how strong you are until being STRONG is the only choice you have".

Is it just me, or do you find yourself doing the ultimate most when it comes to your grind, but for some reason just when you're about to make it to the finish line… something happens, which ends up messing up your whole plan.

This is what happened when I was planning on revealing the new blog and all the new content. Ladies, my life might look fabulous on social media, but there is something that I have to tell you. This is something that I had to learn … the hard way.

Here I am, enjoying Amsterdam Fashion Week, attending numerous events over the summer, closing some major deals, interacting with other publicists across the pond, celebrating life with my girls, editing the blog and working 36 hours a week at my other job. And then, out of the blue, my heart gives up on me.

What do you do when the grind is so real, and your body can’t take you living FAST & FABULOUS? You just keep pushing till you’ve reached your goal. Or so you think you can.

I was pushing myself so hard that I ended up having a heart attack and being rushed to the hospital.
I am 25. Let that sink in for a minute.

“Baby, love me lights out!”

Stress, not resting enough, the fear of being ‘average’ and wanting to be on top of the game almost cost me the most important thing in life… ME.

This was not the way I planned on starting off the brand new blog, but because I know a lot of people were wondering what happened and why the blog wasn’t online yet, I just decided to address the big ass pink elephant in the room.

Life is too beautiful to not be able to take a breather once in a while. And I’m too FABULOUS
(if I may say so myself) to not be able to BLESS ya’ll with my presence on and off-line!
I’ve learned my lesson and I’m thanking God every day for the fact that I’m still here.

Nothing beats being able to reap the seeds that you have sown; this was one hell of a wake up call.

One month later, I can say that I feel good. Still recovering and enjoying life day by day. My mailbox is still full, invitations for events keep on coming in, new projects are lined up and I’m improving my skills into becoming one of the bests in the field of fashion & PR.

 “Cosmos&Lipstick aspires to inspire”

The brand new blog is more MATURE, contains more events, Girl-talk, my favorite places to visit and gives you a look into my day to day life as I try to juggle (as people like to call women like me) being a millennial.

I am still working on finding the perfect balance, but writing is something that I can’t live without. And don’t worry, the sassiness that made “Twenty in This City” such a big hit is still here. I’m still that stripper loving, money throwing, Chanel addicted, cocktail sipping, business minded, stiletto wearing, food loving and loud little girlfriend that keeps it all the way 100 with you!

The brand of Cosmos&Lipstick has been motivating and encouraging a lot of women out there with their own businesses, and this is something that I will continue on doing with this blog and all other social media platforms that I own.

Feel free to come back any time you want, to catch up on all things fabulous, described in true Cosmos&Lipstick fashion!

Start warning your mothers, because I'm OFFICIALLY BACK ONLINE!

Quote of the day: “Let go and let life happen. You can’t control everything!”
